Markers

Additionally, I purchased a marker and highlighter that can be filled with Noodler's Ink. The Platinum Preppy Marker can be used in "eye dropper" mode, where the entire barrel of the pen is filled with ink. Wowser!

Additionally, I converted a Platinum Preppy Highligher to "eye dropper" mode to allow me to have a broad tip marker in which I can fill with my favorite ink.

The advantage of using these this way is that I will also be able to "wash" the ink to attain the shading I would like to see. Additionally, with two different markers, it is possible to use two different inks to add interest to the pen & ink painting.

I also have two sets of Sakura Pigma Micron markers. One is a set of eight black pens and the other is a set of colored brush pens.

The ink from these can also be washed with a (cheap) watercolor brush and water. However, the ink from these pens dries quite quickly.

Here's a video that shows the extreme capabilities, if you are creative, that you can achieve just with marker and a water brush.

Hmmm... Now that's an idea that would blend my love of calligraphy and my love of watercolor. Plus, these are small, so would use smaller pieces of scrap mat board when framing it.
